What Does this urine Test Result Mean?

it is for my mother..... she is 56 yrs and undergoing medication with r-cinex 600 and combutol 800 and she is TYPE II DM and taking 12/8 units of insulin. now her urine culture shows colony count 100000 CFU/ML and was advised to take MEROPENEM 1gm inj Q8H for 7 days. she has ahistory of renal failure in the past (4 months back) and the latest urea 34 and creat 0.8 after taking 7 doses of said inj. Now I couldn t get in touch with my physician to consult with these results..... will you please guide in this regard

Thanks for your question on HCM.
I want to ask few questions first.
1. Does your mother suffering from genital tuberculosis?
2. Have you done urine culture and sensitivity?
Since your mother is having diabetes, possibility of gram negative urinary tract infection is more.
And her colony counts are very high.
So better to get done culture of organism responsible for this and also sensitivity. So that we can guide the antibiotics.
If she is improving with meropenem than continue this for 7 days.
If not improve than get done urine culture and sensitivity to guide the antibiotic therapy.
